For the next two years, everything I own and use will be housed in beautifully constructed little pannier bags – reason alone to make sure that it’s all suitable for the job.
With the bike being built from the ground up, and everything we’re taking being bought by ourselves based on experience/research/word of mouth/blind dumb luck, it all needed to be top notch.
Below is the packing list for the RTW trip, with (measured) weights where I’ve been bothered to crack out the scales, and prices that I paid for at the time. I know this will seem like a lot to some people, a little to others, and just bizzare to others still. I guess I would say whatever works for you works, I always find it interesting to read other people’s plans!
